Subject: January NEWS From: PatBond NORTHPORT ARTS COALITION NEWS December 28, 2002 NEWS FLASH -The multi-colored ties and the multi-colored ties alumni of Northport High School perform at the First Presbyterian Church tonight at 7 p.m. on Main Street, Northport. (Free/(donations) And on January 3rd the 5th Annual NHS Composers Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Grads from ’73 to ’02 will be performing! On January 8th, a performance organized by Nancy Reycraft will feature flutists: Stephanie Gralow, Ava Harris, Nancy Reycraft, Bassam Saba, Deborah Sherman, Sally Shorrock, and Leslie A. Strait. This Flutefest will feature a performance of Friedrich Kuhlau’s Variations on an Irish Air "The Last Rose of Summer." Bassam Saba will play the "oud" in a musical segment. The finale will feature a flute choir performing music by Scott Joplin and a jazz arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." On January 24th, the Do-ing Music concert series will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Northport Library Community room. Congratulations are in order to Sally Shorrock, the organizer of the Do-ing Music concert series, who is the recipient of a 2003 Huntington Arts Council Decentralization Grant. The Northport Art Exhibit "Northport Women of Distinction" ends on January 12th.
