November 2004

NAC Wednesday, November 10,
7:00 p.m.  at the Northport Library

Now is your chance to brainstorm with us, as well as help out in the organization. We would love to see members who are ACTIVE and willing to PARTICIPATE in the growth of our organization!! Help us fund raise, help us plan programs, help us post flyers and posters, spread the word, etc...  As you know we are an all volunteer organization.

Come down to the library, and hear about all the NAC programs that are already in place:  Our Wednesdays at the Library, Village Hall Art Show," Art, Music and Poetry in the Park," Do-ing Music Concert Series, Happenings on Main Street, Opera at the Cafe, etc...

We are planning more projects, including a Middle Eastern Dance performance in the  winter (Posey School), as well as Opera Scenes performances (Northport VA). Please stop by, and hear all about it. Contribute your creative brainstorms as well!

THE SKY’S THE LIMIT! WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Brainstorm with us!  Lend a hand!

David Amram and company presented a program at our October NAC WEDNESDAY

which held us all spellbound.  How fortunate we are to enjoy such superior programs uniting music, dance, and poetry live and in person!

NAC's Do-ing Music Series on Friday, October 1 starring Gene Keyes and  Isabella  Eredita Johnson was a sellout.  The Program held the attention of a standing-room-only audience of over 150 people..  Accolades to Sally Shorrock for bringing this about.  And a big thank you to NAC members for supporting programs like this, which are free to people of all ages.  TV certainly cannot compare to the magic of live entertainment. Our appreciation goes out to Northport Library for supplying the Community Room as a venue for art.

The Northport Arts Coalition is presenting an art exhibit of work completed by area artists "Rebuilding Our Future: Life After Nine Eleven" in the Northport Village Hall commemorating the third anniversary of 9/11. Works by artists Doris Rowe, Joan Fahey, Janet Simpson, Gordon Tomei, Aina Nylander Rossiter, Lauren and Zach Paige, and Michael Lettera are included.  These works express patriotism, both hope and fear for the future, life from ashes, and inner turmoil.  See this exhibit in November.
