DANCE

The Children’s Dance Company will perform on Sunday, April 17 at the Posey School at 57 Main Street. There are two performances scheduled, at 2:00 and at 4:00. To reserve space call 631-757-2700 and leave your name, phone number and the number of people in your party on the answering service. There is no admission fee but donations will be requested at the door. Space is limited to those who call in advance.

The program includes four dances originally choreographed by the famous modern dance choreographer Doris Humphrey prior to 1910. The four dances are the earliest known of her work and have been reconstructed by Elsa Posey and Allison Smith for the purpose of preserving the dances through dance notation so that future generations may learn these dances. The dances will be accompanied on the piano by Isabella Eredita-Johnson and Tom Dana. Other works in the program include dances from West Side Story (the musical), original works in tap, modern dance, ballet and jazz created by the young dancers interested in preserving their dance heritage.

Posey School is now registering for the summer programs. Integrated Arts Camp for 4 to 8 year olds with Denise Tellier Cook, Dorit Netzer and Sonja Baier; Summer Ballet Intensive with Elsa Posey and Summer Musical Theater with Elyssa Vanderpool.
